   Hakimullah Mehsud was killed yesterday, Friday by a U.S drone assault.

Taliban Commander Khan Said Sajna is tipped to become the new leader.

Mehsud was killed along with four other people-including two of his bodygaurds-when four missiles struck their vehicle in the north-western region of the North Waziristan.

Mehsud's funeral has taken place at an unknown location in the tribal area of North Waziristan.

Neither the Pakistani nor US government have officially confirmed or denied the reports.

Previously, a lot of claims and counter claims had been made US and  Pakistani governments but this had been untrue.

Pakistani government vehemently condemned the drone attack as a violation of her sovereignty!!

Islamabad is on alert with an intensified security presence in the wake of the attack.

Taliban commanders will be meeting to name their new leader. although, Khan said Sajna had been tipped to fill this Vaccum.

However, two promient member's of this Group are also on this leadership race- Mehsud's cousin, Qari Walayat mehsud, and Mullah Fazlullah.

Mehsud's death has being seen as a big-blow to this insurgent group, after the capture of one of their top-shot by US forces in Afghanistan.
